CARE & COMFORT AND THEIR WATERVILLE EMPLOYEES SUPPORT
THE MAINE CHILDREN’S HOME FOR LITTLE WANDERERS
Care & Comfort and the staff of their Waterville branch presented a check to the Maine Children’s Home for Little Wanderers to be used this summer as camperships for youth.
“Each day our staff of over 600 throughout the State is committed to providing children, adults, seniors and families with home health and mental health services that enhance their quality of life. And, we certainly share the Maine Children’s home belief that every child deserves the right to reach his or her full potential”, says Care & Comfort’s CEO and founder Susan D. Giguere. “Both of our organizations have positively influenced so many lives for so many years. Between us, we touch over 6,000 individuals in Maine annually,” she adds.
Annually C & C’s administrative staff raises funds for nonprofit agencies by paying $2.00 weekly for the privilege of wearing Jeans to work on Friday….nice ones of course. At the end of the year, they select the recipient and Care & Comfort corporate matches the amount raised.
The Maine Children’s Home for Little Wanderers goal is to send 150 children to overnight camp in 2013. “Many of us have fond memories of summers spent at camp. We understand and appreciate the skills learned, the unique experiences we encountered and the lifelong friendships made. We thank the Maine Children’s Home for offering the Summer Camp program to assist underprivileged children overcome hurdles resulting from poverty, abuse and neglect. And, I thank our staff for making it possible for 11 of these children to have what may be the best experience of their life to date!” says Giguere.
