Care & Comfort and Our Wilton Staff Present Gift To United Methodist Economic Ministry

Care & Comfort and the staff of our Wilton branch recently presented a gift to the United Methodist Economic Ministry, which serves the Northern Appalachian Mountain region of Western Maine.  Founded in 1969, the ministry helps hundreds of Franklin and Somerset County families annually.

“When we’re looking for our charitable partners each year, we look for organizations that make significant differences in their community, ones that actually change lives.  I’m pleased to say that we found one that’s hard to beat.  I could try to name everything they do, but the list of what they don’t do may be shorter.  For over 40 years they’ve served a part of Maine that’s very much in need, the economically distressed region of western Maine.  They run a winter warming center, help folks with heating oil, operate a food pantry, run a thrift shop offering low-cost clothing including winter coats, and much more.  If there’s a need, they find a way to meet it", said Mike Stair, Care & Comfort's Chief Operating Officer.

“Together in six months we raised a total of $ 985.00, we are all happy to see this further the good work of the United Methodist Economic Ministry of Salem Township,” Mike added.
