Care & Comfort and Our Presque Isle Team Helped Make the Holidays Brighter for Aroostook County Families
The 2015 Holiday Season is a fading memory for some but for the 270 children and 128 families who received toys and/or food vouchers from the Kiwanis Club of Presque Isle, the memories are bright and happy ones. Care & Comfort and our Aroostook County staff are thrilled we played a significant role in making the Christmas Basket Project a success with our $725.00 donation from the Jean Fund.
“Care & Comfort is a family owned agency, and we care about the communities we serve and call home,” said Susan D. Giguere our founder and CEO. “To me and our nearly 600 employees, Care & Comfort is not just our company name, it’s our mindset. As a mother and grandmother, I recognize how important the holidays are ~ they should not be about giving and receiving gifts but rather about enjoying the festiveness and joy the season brings. However, for families facing difficult times happiness is often replaced with sadness and frustration, especially for parents. We know our gift helped put broad smiles on young faces and relieved a bit of stress for many adults. I am so pleased our staff chose this outstanding project to be a gift recipient.”
The Kiwanis Club of Presque Isle has been doing the Christmas Project for over 50 years thanks to club members who donate their time and energy to planning and organizing the event and generous contributions from individuals and businesses.
