Care & Comfort and their Staff present gift to the the United Way’s Hope Fund
Wilton, ME - The United Way of the Tri-Valley Area's Hope Fund is the recent recipient of a gift from Care & Comfort's Wilton Branch Jean Fund.
The Hope Fund assists with unmet needs of children in Greater Franklin County, with an emphasis on removing obstacles to enable low-income children to engage in a wide variety of enriching experiences in which they would not otherwise be able to participate. Since the aim of the Fund is to raise aspirations for area youth and expose young people to various opportunities, support is considered for a broad range of activities. These include, but are not limited to: therapeutic recreation, athletic team participation, camps, UMF Fitness and Recreation and Center memberships, and after-school programs. Funding may be used for registration fees and/or for equipment or materials needed to participate. For in-depth info about the Fund, who is eligible, and the application process contact the UWTVA.
“Children, Hope, and Opportunity are more than just three words, they are building blocks upon which our communities will thrive for generations to come!” said Mike Stair, President & COO of Care & Comfort. As our Wilton team members provide behavioral and home health services they frequently see the barriers low-income children face which prevent them from taking part in experiences that would enrich their lives. I’m proud of our staff, which by selecting this wonderful UWTVA program as our gift recipient have helped in adding to those three words ~ Children plus Hope plus Opportunity equals a stronger foundation for life.”
The Jeans Fund, an ongoing collaborative fundraising effort between Care & Comfort and their employees, has contributed more than $83,000 in the past ten years to community-based non-profit organizations. Every Friday staff may wear jeans to work for a donation, the agency then matches every dollar raised, and the employees of each branch select their local beneficiary semi-annually.
